Help with PDF files and Adobe Acrobat

PDF document Some sections of this site are in a format called Portable Data Format (PDF). You may come across PDF files when viewing online leaflets, committee papers or other detailed information.

Your browser cannot display PDF, so you need a plug-in program called Adobe Acrobat Reader. This program lets you magnify and find screen text. It is freely available from the Adobe website. The Adobe Acrobat Reader download is also commonly available on CD-ROMs and is often preloaded on computers.

If you have visual difficulties you may find services which improve the accessibility of Acrobat documents useful.

Errors:

If you get this error message, "Acrobat Reader: There was an error processing a page. A font contains a bad CMap/Encoding."

This may mean that you need a later version of Acrobat Reader to open the file. Try downloading the latest version of the software from the Adobe Web site.
