NAPF promotes workplace pensions. Its priority is to ensure a regulatory and fiscal environment that encourages the provision and take up of employer-sponsored pensions, as well as sound stewardship of pension fund assets. It also provides its members with valuable information and other services to assist them in the effective running of their schemes.

The Local Government Pension Division works to provide a secure, modernised statutory pension scheme for local government employees in England and Wales. The website contains information for those administering the Local Government Pension Scheme but will also be of interest to members of the public and others who want details of the scheme or about other topical issues relating to retirement and pensions in general.

| TPAS, the Pensions Advisory Service, is an independent non-profit organisation that provides information and guidance on the whole spectrum of pensions covering State, company, personal and stakeholder schemes. They also help any member of the public who has a problem, complaint or dispute with their occupational or private pension arrangement.

The Pensions Regulator is the new regulatory body for work-based pension schemes in the UK. They opened for business on 6 April 2005, replacing OPRA, the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority. Created under the Pensions Act 2004, The Pensions regulator has wider powers and a new proactive and risk-focused approach to regulation.

Pension Tracing Service |
If you think you may have an old pension, but are not sure of the details, the Pension Tracing Service can usually help by tracing it for you. It can be easy, for instance, if you have changed jobs a number of times through your working life to have lost contact with a previous employer and their pension scheme. The Pension Tracing Service has access to a database of over 200,000 occupational and personal pension schemes and can be used, free of charge, to search for a scheme. |
The Personal Finance Society is the largest professional body for individual financial advisers (and those in related roles) in the UK. This site is entirely made up of Qualified Financial Advisers who subscribe to a code of ethics and conduct, as well as maintain their continuing professional development through further training. |
